A sculptural basket in a reticulated form, featuring an openwork body in the Rocaille style, with gracefully curved edges and an ornate base. On either side are two sculpted putti (cherubic figures), adding dimensionality and a sense of movement to the composition.
• Main tone: soft celadon green
• Central element: a cameo-style medallion with a raised female profile in bas-relief against a rich red background (a pinkish-iron hue imitating ancient gems)
Decoration & Symbolism:
• Openwork body: resembles intertwining vines, emphasizing the handcrafted, airy quality of the design
• Medallions: classical female profile framed in gold — a reference to Neoclassical traditions and Italian cameos
• Putti: symbolizing serenity, love, and joy
• Garlands of flowers and grapevines enhance the antique elegance and romantic character

Pieces of this level and craftsmanship are extremely rare in such well-preserved condition. Similar baskets are held in museum collections, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
